I appreciate the communication that goes on on this site. The ideas of all can be in the open and scrutinized. I still hope for the best (the liberation of Lebanon). The last two posts (The Real Fight of Hezbollah, Has This Conflict Yielded Some Good?) returned some hope to me that some critical thinking is going on.
My two cents: I don't think that Noam Chomsky or Robert Fisk are really your friends. I think they dangerous to you because they are subtle liars and their ends are not your ends.
Pulling Israel's Strings in Time of War
The Empire interfere's with Israel for it's own nefarious goal's,playing both sides in the Arab Israeli conflict.
Eventually Humpty Dumpty will fall off the wall
Eventually Israel's weak puppet minister will have to put Israel's survival above the will of Cowboy Bush and Rice Gumbo.
What comes around Goes around America !
The end goal of Israel from the beginning should have been 'Victory over Hezbollah'.
Due to Israel's slaveish obiescense to their masters they have lost this vision and only talk about weak efforts to push back the enemy.
Who has instilled this long term weakness in Israel's weak puppet, empty suit leaders ?
The answer is clear for any who want to see.
JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel has put plans for a new ground offensive in Lebanon on hold to give a chance to cease-fire efforts, senior government officials said Thursday, a day after Israel's Security Cabinet approved a major expansion of the monthlong war
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is ready to delay the offensive until the weekend, said a senior government official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss the issue with reporters. The offensive could begin earlier if Hezbollah launches a major attack on Israel, the official said.
"There are diplomatic considerations," he told Israel Radio, when asked about a planned delay. "There is still a chance that an international force will arrive in the area. We have no interest in being in south Lebanon. We have an interest in peace on our borders."
I wonder why the weak and confused Israeli Puppet Minister Olmert vasilates so often and why he failed to act forcefully in the beginning ?
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called during the meeting, officials said, and Olmert told ministers after his half-hour conversation with Rice that the offensive would be accompanied by a new diplomatic push.

Best of luck with your new technology but why on earth do you start Chomsky? Donald Duck or even Fatfat would have done you better.
As for Fisk try this one:
“I travel the roads of southern Lebanon every two weeks and there are no such [Hizbullah] missiles, as the UN force there will confirm… Hizbollah resistance… missiles are a myth.”
-- Robert Fisk, The Independent on April 15, 2003.
(from www.tomgrossmedia.com/mideastdispatches).
Sky reporters literally tripped over the damn things, all the locals were justifiably terrified but Fisk (and Unifil)debunked the "myth". Now was he:
(a) never in South Lebanon?
(b) blindfolded wherever he went?
(c) on someone's payroll?
(d) blinded by hate and unconcerned with the truth?
(e) all of the above?
As I nervously watch the news unfold, Im filled with a deep sadness.
Israel is waiting at the border to unleash all hell. The moderates among us are all to aware the implications of a massive ground invasion. Any talk of a graveyard for israeli soldiers by nasrallah shows how truly little he cares for your country. A graveyard for israel will without doubt be 10 fold worse for the lebanese. Israel is NOT fighting this war out of arrogence. Israelis and Jews the world over understand the sacrifice that can and potentially will be made to once again say to those who want to see jews driven into the see, that they will not go like lambs to the slaughter.
That being said, I dont understand how Lebanese can support someone who is driving their country off a cliff. When push comes to shove, are the Lebanese really going to let themselves be used as pawns by tyrants that dont even care about their own people. Remember Hamma, Syria? Does that have to be the alternative to blind support of these suicidal killers?
While the Islamic world cheers on their posterboy, the time for the silent majority to stand up has never been more vital. What would the newspapers that proudly declare each israeli cassualties have to say, if a million lebanese stood up against ALL violence and agression.
As a college student in america, I am fortunate to not have to fall asleep to the sound of explosions and gunfire. Nonetheless, I know that if our generation does not take responsibility for the mess we are in, the future holds looks very dark... esspecialy for those of us who want muslims, jews, christians to live in peace and mutual prospetity.
Possibility lies in the future, not the past.
Shalom/Salaam

Marcel,
good for you for speaking your mind in your free living suburban life of Florida. =)
I find you facinating that you look forward to your own countries demise."what comes around goes around". You sound like those who are hoping in the wings we fail in Iraq just out of spite. What is wrong with you folks?
I hope you will enjoy it if the like of a HA were in office.
oh wait, you concider our way of living like so many on the left to be under the gun.
Also, you clearly got some racial undertones in your reference to Condi and Gumbo. Is that hidden racism too?
Thank you for showing how much tolerance we have in America and how we have issues of self loathing and are so desperate to destroy it we are waiting in the hopes for muder, civil unrest, intollerance and bigotry to be a daily way of life in our streets too.
I hope you can manage to wake up again tommorow and carry on under all the suffering we endure in AMERICA!

Latest word is that 24 Pakastani moslem's have been arrested in U.K. for attempting to blow up U.S. airliners as they headed for the U.S.
They are so diabolically clever in finding new ways to murder these son's of hell.
So as not to insult the cult of death followers ,western leaders are targeting all non moslem's for their security checks.
The insanity and melt down of the west continues at an airport near you.
Israel has not been PERMITTED to defeat the Hezbollah terrorists and it's weak puppet leaders goes along with a WORTHLESS ceasefire.
The U.S. and the French have come to the rescue of Hezbollah under pressure from the herd of swine, Arab League.
This U.S. & French hypocrisy is the same as the U.S being pressured to come to an agreement with Osama and his al Queda.
There is not any doubt that
this is another in a long list of failures of this president from the Road Map to the Iraq disaster.
What good is a ceasefire except for the Syrian and Iranian led terrorist army in Lebanon ?
The video of Israeli children's gifts to Lebanese children is as disturbing in the wish for vengeance as for the violence.
Israeli children autographing hate and destruction; a young Lebanese promising not to forget.(Which no doubt means he'll be taught a lot of hate too.)
This doesn't sound like a good plan.
_______
As regards the latest foiled terrorist plot - can't the Islamafascists find anything to do with their lives but plot death and destruction. How can they possibly think that is a desirable lifestyle? If they can put explosives in toothpaste, couldn't they put their heads together and try to cure a disease? They are so dsyfunctional.
Gma
I think the videos add a lot to this blog. I'm glad your videos are "Mac" friendly. I like to come here, and wish that Israel and Lebanon were both enjoying peace right now. No matter what it looks like now, don't ever give up the dream of a Free Lebanon.

What is with the stupid Celine Dion/Hizballa clip? Sick.

Hey Marcel ....
Have you served in US Armed Forces??
Will you ever serve in US Armed Forces??
Same as above for Israeli Armed Forces ???
You are certainly free to leave US
and serve in Israeli armed forces
as are many others ...
The simple fact is US acts in our own interests first ....
If Condi and Bush feel its best for US interests now to allow a few days of Diplomacy then so be it ... Does the US owe Israel anything ???
If so tell me how much
we will pay it off next year
in full ... so how much
does US owe Israelis???
Most of the time Israeli interests
and US interests are in Synch ....
so right now US pressures Israelis
to hold off major offensive for a few days ... BIG DEAL ..
1) It may very well save 100's
of Israeli soldiers lives
2) If a peace deal can be made
even if it last 5 years ...that
may provide a window for advanced technology to come into play that will make all of Hezbolla rockets obsolete therby
saving more Israeli lives
3) the al-queda analogy is BS
as lebanon is over 1/3
Shia Muslims much different
Then dealing with al-queda
and Much different then dealing
with Iraq under Saddam
4) If conflict widens and Iran and Syria are drawn in Israel and US air forces may need quiet support
from places like Saudi Arabia
Kuwait etc for steady supplies
of jet fuel etc
Simple fact is Israeli can handle Hezbolla if no one else gets involved
If Iran and Syria get involved because of wider offensive then
the moderate Arab states are important ...
If peace offer is reasonable and Hezbolla rejects it
it isolates Hezbolla amongst
Egypt/Jordan/Kuwaitt/Saudi
If Hezbolla accepts it and then
violates it ... same as above
Its very difficult and expensive and dangerous for US Forces to project themselves overseas for any
prolonged conflict ... support
among neighboring states is needed.
So screw you ... your are here safe and sound while Americas military
men have their necks out
5) If your so into this big
offensive move to Israel
and join the IDF
and If you are an old man then send your children over when they are 18
Israeli Arrogance and Bush latest Trick
Breaking the cycle of violence
Is Electroniclebanon by the same people as electronicintefada?
That's a pro-war web site you know. They're against the Israelis, but certainly in favor of the war on Israel that never ends...
Careful, video doesn't just "reveal truths and show hidden facts", it can also be a powerful medium for fomenting hatred and perpetuating conflict.

How smug of you to hide behind anonymous and ask me your questions.
Israel suffers from weak leaders who bend to bad U.S. pressure .
No balls to stand firm and strong.
Only Israel's God can save a nation turned into appeasers and retreaters.
It's not just talk on my part,
I'm ready to fight for Israel.
I've seen for too long the corrupt sell out's in Washington sacrifice Israel for their duplicitious Middle East Agenda.
You and your moderate Arab states, I'm sure you went along with the stupid presidents plan to tame Islam in Iraq by the vote and democracy.
I always saw from day one that it would fail.
You dumb fools like the idiot president don't understand Islam.
You fail to understand that moslems will always side with fellow moslems against 'infidels' and that those who go along with Israel ort the U.S. are considered apostate and dead moslem's.
The radical's control the moderates thru fear and intimidation.
WITNESS ALL THE ANONYMOUS COWARDS WHO POST HERE FEARFUL OF REVEALING THEIR IDENTITY.
Terrorism pays and the U.S. has always come to the rescue of the Palestinian terrorist's by offering them someone elses land for their terrorist state.
They play the same evil game by interfering and restraining Israel against Hezbollah.
You refuse to see this hypocrisy because Empire arrogance has infected you.
The only moderate Arab's are in the grave.
Mubarak is not a moderate but a stealth Islamic warrior playing his moderation act well,he allows weapons to be smuggled into Gaza and Jordan's king Abdullah always serve Islamic interest's first
That is not the issue here !
Will I gain acceptance or brownie points if I tell you that I was a crew chief on the F-4D at a T.A.C. base when the Yom Kippur War broke out in 73'.
The Russian's threatened to get involved by coming to Egypt's rescue and we went on Red Alert.

The screw job Israel is getting from the U.S. led ceasfire to appease their phony moderate Arab partners.
However, the Defense Ministry and the IDF General Staff are fiercely opposed to the emerging cease-fire, and senior defense officials accused Olmert of blocking the proposed advance to the Litani, thereby denying Israel a significant military achievement.
The officials charged that the emerging resolution is very problematic for Israel, because it makes no provision for the immediate return of the kidnapped soldiers (it urges their return, but this is not one of the resolution's operative clauses), includes no stringent supervisory mechanism to prevent a renewed flow of arms to Hezbollah, and does not guarantee the organization's disarmament. "[Hezbollah leader Hassan] Nasrallah will continue to mock us, and in the end there will be another war," said one.
"We understand that the leadership wants to do everything possible to save soldiers' lives, but too much is in the balance here," added another. "We must continue."
The defense officials argued that the cabinet should have allowed the expanded operation approved on Wednesday to start immediately, thereby creating military pressure for a cease-fire more favorable to Israel. By delaying the operation, they said, this opportunity has apparently been missed.
Great idea!
The effect of a movie or a picture is greater than the effect of a written story.

I think some of you are confused,
Washington doesn't want this to end soon, and neither do informed Americans. We see this for exactly what it is, a proxy war between the US and Irano-syrian islamofacists. If we were really pressuring Israel to end it, I am afraid it would have already ended. It won't happen till Israel tells us (behind closed doors) either they need a reason to exit gracefully or they have finished their objectives.
I served 8 years in the US army. I worked with military personnel from every country of the world, or damn close to it. I have great respect for the Israeli military, they know how to get the job done other nations have not impressed me too much. If I spoke Hebrew I would have already seriously considered joining the IDF, pretty sure they require Hebrew speakers, the site is only available in Hebrew. My time was spent in SE Asia, and other than English I only speak Thai.
I am sick of hearing the abuse of the term jihad by people who love to use the crusader term to describe all the 'infidels' who won't just roll over and die for them. I am neither Christian nor Jew by religious affiliation, but morally I find myself much more in line with the thinking of the Judeo-Christian ethics every day even with a history of inquisitions and crusades.
The people I honestly feel the most pity for in this situation are the good Lebanese people who didn't want to be in this fight and who wanted to be rid of Hezbollah before this whole debacle. I feel nothing for the sympathizers and supporters of HZ, and I feel contempt for the actual 'leadership' of HZ for their irresponsible acts which have wrought death and destruction to the people of Lebanon.
Both sides of this conflict need to stop the cycle of hate and teaching children to hate. It will only be an obstacle to peace later, when the conflict is eventually resolved. These people can't honestly think they will be allowed to survive if their goal is in fact genocide of an entire sovereign nation. With the possible exception of France, no one else (in the civilized world) will tolerate it. But France is the biggest supporter/enabler of Jew hatred in the western world, please stop saying anti-Semitic, Hebrew isn't in fact the largest Semitic language, Arabic is. Call it what it is, hatred of Jews, nothing more, nothing less.

why did you remove my link to the cnn video of palestinians celebrating 9/11?

In ignorance you wrote;
"Both sides of this conflict need to stop the cycle of hate and teaching children to hate."
When you don't know what you are talking about ,it's best to shut up.
Your snob like moral equivalence of bringing Israel down to the level of the Islamic butchers is disingenuous.
If you would find out for yourself instead of falling for the western media bias ,you would learn the the Jews do not teach their children to hate.
That is strictly a religious aspect of Islam towards infidel's ,especially those of the Jewish persuasion.
There is no cycle of violence only a commited drive by the Islamofascists to desrtoy Israel.
YOU ARE WILLINGLY IGNORANT WHEN IT COMES TO U.S INTERFERENCE IN HOW ISRAEL IS FIGHTING THIS WAR FOR THEIR SURVIVAL ?
Why are so many American's so blind ,so arrogant and so condescending to Israel ?

Military officials said it is in Israel's interest to push forward with its military operation in order to achieve more military and strategic gains ahead of a ceasefire that could open the way for the deployment of an international force in southern Lebanon.
The defense establishment criticized Olmert and Peretz for delaying the operation for two weeks, an operation officers say will significantly weaken Hizbullah.
Israeli sources say Olmert, Peretz and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni are unpleased with the draft resolution for a ceasefire because it fails to call for the disarmament of Hizbullah.
Angelo Frammartino, a 24 year-old student from Italy who arrived in Israel as a human rights organization activist, was stabbed to death Thursday by an Arab knifeman.
"He believed in what he did and was always ready to help others," a friend described him.
The website of Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera reported that Frammartino was working for the setting up of a children's supper camp for Palestinians in Jerusalem's Old City, and was supposed to return to Italy on Friday.
The youth was stabbed in the back while walking with four friends in the Sultan Suleiman street in the capital, near the Prahim Gate.

Islam at work.
The madman thought he was stabbing a Jew in the back ?
This is how moslem's
treat those who help them.
Anon,
I didn't see your link added to the video section, but the link is still available in the comments section.
There are currently some technical difficulties. The programmers are constantly updating the site. I tried to post two of Lisa Goldman's videos, but the programmers had to take those down to fiddle around a bit.

marcel,
You are confused, having children write messages on artillery shells in immoral and teaching hate. It's nowhere near the equivalent to the PLO teaching children to blow themselves up with belts in populated areas for the glory of the palastinian peoples. but it is still reprehensible, and Israel is only able to fight this war becuase of the US money/equipment/political support. We have managed to keep the international community stalled for over a month, (you think it's a coincidence we can't come to a concensus with the rest of the UN?) and hopefully as long as it takes to finish this task which needs to be done. Don't get me wrong, I fully support Israel, but just as any nation in war, mistakes are made, the assholes of the international community who want to see Israel fail have microscopes at the ready. Marcel, you need to relax and stop attacking your allies with the same virous you should have reserved for your enemy. Chill bitch.
